We’ve all heard the phrase “Practice Makes Perfect” and Blackboard provides a feature that allows instructors to create self-assessment assignments that will not be included in Grade Center calculations. Self-Assessment assignments can be created by adjusting one setting in a Blackboard test. If you teach a course that allows for dynamic questions such as Math or Science you can include Calculated Formula questions so each time a student launches the assignment they will receive different numbers.
Self-Assessment Options
- [MUST BE UNCHECKED] Include this Test in Grade Center score calculations – When this box is unchecked the student’s grade will not affect the grade center total.
- [OPTIONAL] Hide results for this test completely from the instructor and the Grade Center – When checked the student’s grade will not be visible to the instructor, but will be visible to the student.
Test Feedback
It is recommended that all test feedback options are checked so the student can review their work and learn from their mistakes.
