Setting up Grade Center for K-12

Having one Blackboard course to manage multiple sections of students can be daunting. Following these one time steps will make grading easier when transferring Grade Center grades into your institution’s Student Information System. One you have completed these 2 steps, you will then be able to view Grade Center by class period rather than a long list of all your students.

Step One: Creating Class Period Groups

Instructions:

  1. Go to the Groups Module (Control Panel > Users and Groups > Groups)
  2. Click Create Group Set, then Manual Enroll
  3. In the group name enter “Period ” (Include the space. Blackboard will automatically add the number after the name.)
  4. OPTIONAL: Select any tools you would like to keep enabled.
  5. Uncheck “Allow Personalization”
  6. Enter the number of class period you have in “Number of Groups”
  7. Click Submit
  8. Manually put each student in their respective class period.
  9. Click Submit
