Creating Canned Responses in Gmail

Don’t recreate your email templates each time. Use Canned Responses available in the Gmail Labs.


Enabling Canned Responses from the Labs

  1. Go to your Gmail Settings.
  2. Click the Labs Tab.
  3. Find and Enable Canned Responses by Chad P.

Creating a Canned Response

  1. Click Compose a New Email.
  2. Enter your canned response in the editor.
  3. Click the arrow on the bottom toolbar.

  4. Click Canned Responses.
  5. Under the Save Header, click New Canned Responses.

  6. Name your canned response.

Inserting a Canned Response

  1. Click Compose a New Email.
  2. Click the arrow on the bottom toolbar.

  3. Click Canned Responses.
  4. Under the Insert Header, click the response.

Send automatic Canned Responses

  1. Go to your Gmail Settings.
  2. Click the Filters Tab.
  3. Click Create a new filter.
  4. Enter your filter information.

  5. Click Create filter with this search » in the bottom right corner.
  6. Check the Send canned response box and select your canned response from the dropdown box.

  7. Click Create filter.
